The Purpose of Life according to Hindu Religion

The purpose of life according to the Hindu religion is liberation, or moksha. The word moksha is derived from the root muc, which means release. Thus, moksha means release from all bondage, all sense of limitation and all pain and sorrow. Sometimes moksha is said to be release from the cycle of births and deaths; the actual definition is much broader and more general.
